Artur Nitribitt, an architect, hitchhiked 25,000km from Wroclaw, Poland, to Singapore.

He did not take any public transport, ships or planes on his four-month trip, but relied on the goodness of anyone willing to give him a lift.

Prior to this epic land voyage, Nitribitt travelled around Europe by hitchhiking, figuring it was the cheapest way to get around.

However, Nitrbitt, 28, said hitchhiking to Singapore allowed him to mingle with the locals along the way:

Via The New Paper, Nov. 23, 2015:

"After my first few experiences, I started to realise that what I like about hitchhiking is not only money saved on transport, but rather the unique opportunity to meet random local strangers and talk with them during the journey," said Mr Nitribitt, 28, who arrived here last Friday.

He chose Singapore as his final destination as it was the furthest Asian country he could get to by land.

He also said he spent $10 to $15 a day on food and necessities and slept in a sleeping bag.

His last leg was from Malacca to Singapore, where the photo of him above was taken.

His journey began on July 12, 2015, together with his 20kg backpack that contains a knife and pepper spray.

On his return leg home, he will be flying back, but is contemplating visiting Indonesia first.

And lo and behold, he is couchsurfing with a nudist host in Singapore.

Via TNP again:

He would get his Couchsurfing hosts to write him signs in their native language to hold out for drivers to stop for him, but the traditional thumb out worked, too.

"All of the Couchsurfing stays were pleasant experiences. Some of the hosts I clicked with instantly and we spent our time together as they showed me around," he said.

"In the house I'm living in here, which is near the airport, my host practises nudism. So he walks around his room naked and since that's his practice, I have been doing it, too. At first, it was a little awkward, but after a few minutes, you feel all right... you feel free."
