Every butt counts.

The Consumers Association of Singapore (Case) and Singapore Environment Council (SEC) issued a joint statement on Monday (Oct 5) listing 10 companies that have declared they do not use materials from the five haze-causing firms that were previously served notice by the National Environment Agency.

The 10 companies are:

The paper products above are certified under the Singapore Green Labelling Scheme awarded by the SEC.

Mothership.sg reported last week on the list of products that are manufactured by Asia Pulp and Paper, the only Singapore-linked company to be served notice among the five companies. This list, by the way, includes Paseo toilet paper.

So here are five brands of toilet paper rolls you can stick to using to wipe your behinds so that fresh air might reign again in Singapore:

1. Sunlight Paper Products Pte Ltd's 2 Ply Toilet Paper A Grade Pure White 1

2. Taisin Paper (S) Pte Ltd's Taisin Toilet Roll

5. Spot-On Hygiene Pte Ltd's Jumbo Roll Tissue, Mini Roll Tissue, M-Fold Tissue, Hand Roll Towel Tissue

Of course, you should also buy copier paper from the other five companies listed.

SEC and CASE  wrote that they are currently awaiting declaration forms from seven other third-party manufacturers and will continue to update the list.

Meanwhile, CASE urged consumers to buy the right stuff/do the right thing:

"We hope that consumers will consider not supporting companies involved in the purchase or sourcing of wood, paper and/or pulp products UNLESS they have pledged to be socially responsible. This will send a strong signal to the errant companies that consumers’ goodwill should not be taken for granted and consumers will not support companies which are environmentally irresponsible and/or have contributed to the environmental disaster year after year."

The next time you hunt for toilet rolls, you know what to do.
