A comparison between GE 2011 and GE 2015

PAP

This year: 78.63%

GE 2011: 63.9%

RP

This year: 21.37%

GE 2011: 36.1%

What does this mean?

In the 2011 general elections, the PAP team in Ang Mo Kio GRC led by Mr Lee amassed 69.3% of valid votes against the Reform Party, making it the best performing GRC. This GE will mark the 6th time the PAP has retained its seat since the elections in 1991. We see a few new faces in AMK GRC, and we hope these new faces will help bring a positive difference to Singapore.

PM Lee has promised residents that they can look forward to new facilities and amenities including an upgraded polyclinic. In addition, two new MRT stations along the Thomson - East Coast line which will open in phases from 2019, will also run through the GRC.

Here’s a recap of what happened throughout the 9 days of campaigning:

During Nomination Day:

This.

And this.

Not forgetting their fans

He said, she said

When PM Lee called opposition MPs a 'mouse in the house':

PM'>
Lee Hsien Loong: "The Opposition frankly has been disappointing, because when you go for election rallies, it’s very easy to make fierce rousing speeches ... But when they come to Parliament, none of these issues are raised."So you voted for a tiger in the chamber and you got a mouse in the house. It’s one of these Frankenstein monsters. Every night it turns into a tiger, every day it turns into a mouse." #GE2015http://bit.ly/1Ev4vKm

"So you voted for a tiger in the chamber and you got a mouse in the house. It’s one of these Frankenstein monsters. Every night it turns into a tiger, every day it turns into a mouse."

When PM Lee said Singapore is like a mythical creature - the unicorn:

" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen">

"Singapore is like a unicorn. One of a kind, a special animal, no other in the world. It works well, has unique solutions."

"Will we remain a unicorn, special, or become just like everyone else? It is not at all inconceivable that we can become quite ordinary like any other country."
