The National Solidarity Party (NSP) launched its manifesto ahead of the 2015 General Election on  September 2 on its party website.

It spans six Powerpoint presentation slides since “there is no need for a wordy manifesto”. To provide you with some context, People's Action Party's manifesto contains 88 pages, while Workers' Party's manifesto is 48-page thick.

The party promises in its foreword to “fight to be the voice of the people in Parliament to provide robust debate on national issues”.

If you don’t even have sixty seconds, here’s an overview in just twenty seconds:

The NSP has identified four critical areas that require change:

1. Protection of Singaporeans’ jobs:

Singaporeans must be given top priority. Quotas must be imposed on foreign PMETs (professionals, managers, executives and technicians) seeking employment here.

2. Over-population

A “more considered study” should be made regarding Singapore’s optimal population size. To increase fertility rates, a comprehensive security net for children up to a certain age should be implemented to incentivize “hopeful parents”.

3. Return of CPF Personal Life Savings

All CPF account holders should be able to withdrawal all their CPF savings at age 55 once again. For individuals who are likely to spend irresponsibly, their family members can opt to have their savings withheld.

4. Danger of Widening Inequality Gap

One way to do so would be to allow Singaporeans currently residing in non-private property to purchase an HDB apartment at cost-plus prices, and another one in the resale market.

The full NSP manifesto can be viewed and downloaded here.If you are deciding between voting the PAP, WP or NSP, the PAP manifesto is here and the WP’s manifesto is s here.

Do your due diligence as a voter and read them through. No media/news outlet can ever provide an objective summary of both manifestos without leaving out some detail.
