8 minimalist photos you never thought you could take at a rally

With all the crowds and noise you see at the rallies, you wouldn't believe such minimalism could be achieved in these photos from them.

Huge crowds, constant activity, no natural lighting and a riot of colours, the antithesis of what minimalism is all about. That is why we hardly – almost never, really – see any minimalistic shots from the rallies; just your same old crowd shots or photographs of supporters pumping their fist pumping.

At Mothership.sg, we’ve always enjoyed doing things differently (because we are not mainstream media mah). That is why we sent Filbert, our resident minimalist (more of his photos can be seen here and here), to take on the seemingly impossible task of taking minimalistic shots from election rallies.
