An awesome catch by the Bishan-AMK Otters family!A bit of background - this video was captured at the public pond of Bishan-AMK park. This is the pond where people fish. The koi could have been released by its previous owner who doesn't want to keep it.

The pond is open to people to fish and the koi could have been released by its previous owner as an easy way to get rid of it.
However, this is not the first time otters have consumed expensive fish.
In April 2015, otters were suspected to have feasted on ornamental koi costing more than $80,000 that belonged to a resort and a home in Sentosa.
And if it appears that otters have exquisite taste as they chose to eat expensive fish, that cannot be further from the truth.
Wildlife rescue group Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (Acres) said it was normal for otters to prey on ornamental fish.
"They can't differentiate wild fish from koi and will go for the easier option," said Acres wildlife manager Kalai Vanan Balakrishnan.
