There's the average Foo Fighters fan. And there's Fabio Zaffagnini.

The Italian – who happens to be a hardcore Foo Fighters fan - organised this event called "Rockin 1000" and shot 1,000 Italian rockers playing one of the band's greatest hit "Learn to Fly".

His mission? To make a video so viral and epic that it will make the Foo Fighters notice them and hopefully perform in Cesena, Italy in the future.

And went viral it did. In just two days, the video garnered more than nine million views.

This is what it looks like when you gather 1,000 rockers...

learn to fly 1

Drumming in unison

learn to fly 2

And jamming their hearts out

learn to fly 3

After the epic performance,  Fabio Zaffagnini said:

"I guess that this video is going to be seen by a huge amount of people all over the world. But to be true, it's being conceived, to be addressed just to five people: Chris, Pat, Nate, Taylor and Dave Grohl – the Foo Fighters.

You know, Italy is a country where dreams cannot easily come true. But it's a land of passion and creativity. So what we did here was a huge, huge miracle.

I've been working on this f***ing project for more than one year, waking up every morning thinking about how to make it real. And this is all that we've got: 1,000 people. 1,000 rockers that came from all over the nation at their own expenses. They just did for one song, your song. So our call is to ask you, the Foo Fighters, to come and play for us. Come and play here and give a concert for all of us in Cesena." (emphasis ours)

Guess what? His dream came true.

Dave Grohl responded with this video on Facebook yesterady.

Speaking in Italian the Foo Fighters frontman said:

“Hello Cesena, it’s David. Forgive me that I don’t speak Italian, only a little. This video, how beautiful, so beautiful, thank you so much. We are coming, I promise, we’ll see you soon. Thank you so much. Love you all, bye.”

Thank you for showing the way, Zaffagnini. You proved that miracles do happen if you work hard enough.
