It's Nomination Day for GE2015.

Tan Xing Qi| August 31, 05:59 PM

Finally, the day has come -- Nomination Day that is.

The first day of battle will commence tomorrow at nine nomination centres. The public and supporters of the various political parties can go kaypoh from 10am onwards.

Candidates have one hour (11am to noon) to file their papers. Failing to file on time and correctly will result in disqualification.

We pick out four of the best nomination centres to be at tomorrow.

1. Battle of the East: Fengshan Primary School (Click here for map)

East Coast GRC Photo by Christopher Wong

GRCs: East Coast, Pasir-Ris Punggol

SMCs: Fengshan, Punggol East

Where to go for lunch: 85 Bedok North Road (Not all stalls are open though. Alternatively you can head to Bedok Town Centre Hawker Centre)

Why you should kaypoh there: Because East Coast GRC and Fengshan SMC. The two constituencies are set to be most hotly contested ones this election. After all the "Deep Engagement and Mass Personalisation", Manpower Minister Lim Swee Say and gang will finally know who from Workers' Party will contest there (we are thinking a team of Dennis Tan, Leon Perera and Terence Tan led by Gerald Giam)

As for Fengshan, will we be seeing WP's Daniel Goh slug it out with PAP's Cheryl Chan for that plate of orh luak or bak chor mee?

2. Battle of the Secretary-Generals: Raffles Institution (Click here for map)

lhl vs ltk

GRCs: Aljunied, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan-Toa Payoh

SMC: Sengkang West

Where to go for lunch: Kim San Leng Food Centre

Why you should kaypoh there: Although they are not contesting in the same GRC, all eyes will be on PAP's Secretary-General Lee Hsien Loong and WP's Secretary-General Low Thia Khiang as the result of the PAP vs WP battles will be the main narrative of GE 2015.

Lee will also face another familiar face: Roy Ngerng, who was successfully sued by Lee for defamation, with damages to be assessed. Ngerng, together with M. Ravi, Gilbert Goh, Osman Sulaiman, Siva Chandran and Jesse Loo will be contesting Ang Mo Kio GRC.

3. Battle of the three-cornered fight: Kong Hwa School (Click here for map)

GRC: Marine Parade

SMCs: MacPherson, Mountbatten, Potong Pasir

Where to go for lunch: Old Airport Road Food Centre

Why you should kaypoh there: One of the most exciting three-cornered fights will begin here as incumbent/ new mama Tin Pei Ling looks to fend off WP and National Solidarity Party (NSP), who agreed not to contest in MacPherson initially but did a U-turn a week later citing "appeal from residents".

4. Battle of the Independents: Bendemeer Primary School (Click here for map)

GRCs: Jalan Besar, Tanjong Pagar

SMCs: Radin Mas

Where to go for lunch: Bendemeer Market and Food Centre

Why you should kaypoh there: While WP and PAP will most likely slug it out in Jalan Besar once again and as the walkover era in Tanjong Pagar comes to an end(PAP vs SingFirst), the headlining acts there are, in fact, the independents.

Hong Lim Park devotee Han Hui Hui announced her plan to contest in Radin Mas SMC against PAP's Sam Tan and Reform Party's (RP) Kumar Appavoo last week. To add intrigue and suspense to the mix, online vigilante SMRT Feedback Ltd has been talking up its Teh Tarik Party and caused a frenzy when they posted this:
