Public Service Announcement: There seems to be a problem with eating raw fish in S'pore

Apparently, people have been hospitalised after consuming the dish the past few weeks.

[UPDATE on Monday, July 13 at 7 pm: The Ministry of Health has released a statement on Facebook stating that there is no proven link between eating fish, raw or otherwise, and GBS disease.]

Apparently, hospitals in Singapore have been noticing a surge of people who have gone down with fever and painful swollen joints.

The one thing in common they share is that they had consumed raw fish from various hawker centres.

Here is a public Facebook post warning people in Singapore about what has happened:
