How many "Firsts" did our athletes achieve even before the opening ceremony this Friday?

1st two Golds: Singapore swept the first two gold medals by winning the men's and women's table tennis doubles titles.

1st ever Gold for Singapore in Synchronized Swimming: It is the nation's first gold medal after winning three silvers and one bronze from the previous two times synchronized swimming was held at the SEA Games.

No, the five gold medals did not just come from our China-born table-tennis players.

We also achieved Golds from both fencing and synchronized swimming.

Gold No 1: Zhou Yihan and Lin Ye (table tennis, women's doubles)

Gold No 5: Stephanie Chen, Natalie Chen, Lee Mei Shuang, Crystal Yap, Gwyneth Goh, Debbie Soh, Miya Yong, Geraldine Chew, Shona Lim and Tay Aik Fen (Synchronized swimming, team technical and free routine).

Breaking News from SEA GAMES 2015! Updated: Total score for Team Technical & Free Routine Finals is 150.8445. Our TeamSG Synchronised Swimmers made history by winning Singapore's first-ever Gold medal in the sport! The team, comprising Stephanie Chen, Natalie Chen, Lee Mei Shuang, Crystal Yap, Gwyneth Goh, Debbie Soh, Miya Yong, Geraldine Chew, Shona Lim & Tay Aik Fen wowed the judges & crowd with an impressive routine to score a total of 76.5000 in the Team Technical & Free Routine Finals! Big congratulations girls! Our TeamSG Table Tennis Team has also snagged another Gold medal for the Games! Yang Zi and Yu Mengyu has defeated Thailand with a 4-0 (11-7, 11-5, 11-9, 11-6) in the Mixed Doubles! Their teammates (Li Hu and Zhou Yihan) has also won a joint Bronze earlier in the day.
