Is this your typical S'porean face when you take public transport? Then this Channel 5 talk show is targeted at you.

A talk show to discuss why everything in Singapore happens for a reason.

Belmont Lay| May 12, 08:56 PM

This is you. The long-suffering Singaporean who takes the public transport because cars are for rich people. You put up with traffic congestion. You confront human congestion with stoicism. More often than not, you do so with mutterings under your breath.

You complain about your job. You complain to your other half. You wonder what went wrong somewhere in Singapore society. You consider how much more you can tolerate before you... before you... you realise your hands are tied.

Why is it so crowded? Who are all these people? Why can't people put their bag down in a crowded bus or train and not have it hit my face numerous times?

Why am I here? What's up with everything?

Not to worry. Because to aid in your understanding as to why Singapore is the way it is, a group of Singaporeans -- old and new, and probably one would-be Singaporean -- sit together to talk about issues in the way people who live through these issues don't sit down and talk about things like this.

Let’s Think About It will be shown on Channel 5 on May 12, 2015 from 9.30 to 10.30pm.

Actor playing Lee Kuan Yew in upcoming movie Lim Kay Tong, author who is more Singaporean than most Singaporeans Neil Humphreys, showbiz fellow Mark Lee, academic Paulin Straughan, ex-foreigner-turned-local-football-great Aleksander Duric and Sharon Ismail will share views and stories with Minister Lawrence Wong (who is wearing contacts instead of glasses for some reason) on social integration concerns in Singapore.

Should be fun. Can't wait. Yipeee.
