Celebrate Revenge of the Fifth with the destruction of a Lego Super Star Destroyer

3,000 pieces, 1,000 frames-per-second, senseless fun.

After May the Fourth, it is Revenge of the Fifth.

While it would be nice to witness a Rebel Blockade Runner being destroyed this day, I think most would not mind the destruction of a 3,000 piece Lego Super Star Destroyer instead.

The video is produced by Wired magazine who spent 16 hours building the entire set, complete with placing Darth Vader inside the destroyer. They proceeded to drop it from over 5-metres.

While you may not be able to buy this particular Lego set off the shelves any more, there's still one going for USD$899 on Amazon.

Lego-lovers may want to look away at this senseless carnage in all its 1,000 frames-per-second-slow-motion glory.
