The Singapore Army has tracked down and revealed the identity of one of its officers who selflessly stood up for a full-time National Serviceman (NSF) after the tired soldier had a misunderstanding with a member of the public on the MRT train.

The identity of the officer has been revealed to be LTA Dionel Arun, a Platoon Commander in the 3rd Battalion, Singapore Guards.

The NSF had wanted to take a sip of water on the train but spilled it on a woman. The officer then not only stepped forward to apologise for the soldier's actions, but even assisted to clean up the spilled water.

This is The Singapore Army's Facebook post:

The misunderstanding was initially posted on SAF Confessions -- an outlet for anyone to post anonymously about National Service or anything related to the military -- on April 3, 2015.

However, this is not the first time the Singapore Armed Forces has reacted to comments posted on SAF Confessions Facebook page.

Previously, in June 2014, in a somewhat self-pawning move, someone who anonymously boasted about malingering to get out of National Service prompted the SAF to take the post seriously enough to start investigations.
