The Real Singapore site is being very naughty again.

Its claims of "chaos at City Hall MRT" has earned a swift rebuttal from the Ministry of Information and Communications (MCI).

In response to MCI's rebuttal, TRS said, "Readers can see for themselves from the video (http://on.fb.me/1NiNjYX) that it was chaotic at one point in time and our original article had also posted updates about the situation improving."

As it is a Friday night, Singaporeans took the opportunity to queue up and pay their last respects to Lee Kuan Yew.

However, the State Funeral Organising Committee at about 11.10pm on Friday (Mar 27) announced a temporary closure of the queue for those wishing to pay last respects to Lee lying in state at Parliament House.

This is because the current estimated queue time is now more than 10 hours. They added that they will inform the public when the queue is open again.

Below is the full statement from MCI in response to TRS' antics:

"The Real Singapore posted an article claiming that there “continues to be a scene of chaos [at City Hall MRT station] as people are unable to move much due to the crowds and many people still refuse to go home without paying their respects to Lee Kuan Yew.”

This is false and irresponsible reporting. The situation is calm and the crowd is dispersing.

Our reporter was at the scene and did not witness the chaos claimed by TRS.

Raffles City Shopping Centre was a bit crowded.

Could it be the fact that it is Friday night and there is a 24-hour MacDonalds restuarant nearby?
