Why did Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong start his own Facebook page?

Because of days like these.

As many of us are aware, PM Lee was hospitalized this Monday (Feb.16) to undergo a surgery to remove his cancerous prostate gland.

He has since been discharged from the hospital but look at how The Straits Times made a mess of its coverage online:

The article remained online for a few hours yesterday before it was removed.

How did this happen?

It could be due to an error where a copy or clone of the article was created.

So is PM Lee really okay?

Yes, he is.

First, we can double check with different sources who met him:

President Tan who visited PM Lee in the hospital:

And Minister Tan Chuan-Jin who took a wefie while Acting PM Teo Chee Hean was video conferencing with PM Lee.

Second, we can trust PM's FB to reassure us of his well-being with his daily updates.

PM Lee's operation was a success.

Day 2

PM Lee greeted his cabinet from a video-link before the Ministers started their Cabinet meeting.
