Singapore's most recognisable criminal lawyer Subhas Anandan passed away on Jan. 7, 2015, morning at age 67 at Singapore General Hospital.

Having been diagnosed with heart and kidney failure last year, he was reportedly suffering from poor health.

Subhas has handled over 1,500 criminal cases in Singapore, ranging from murder and kidnapping to drug trafficking and white collar crimes.

Some of his famous cases include representing local celebrity Quan Yifeng, the woman in the sex-for-grades scandal Darinne Ko as well as men involved with an underage callgirl in an online vice ring.

Many of his cases were published in a autobiography in 2008, which provided an insight to Subhas's personality off the court.

Subhas was recently seen in public last Oct., at the launch of the Yellow Ribbon Fund Subhas Anandan Star Bursary Award.

The fund, spearheaded by the Association of Muslim Lawyers and will be administered by the Yellow Ribbon Fund, helps in the rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-offenders.

He is survived by his wife Vimala and his son Sujesh.
