Facebook comments on the passing of M1 chairman proves some people should not Internet

Think twice before you speak, think thrice before you post anything on Facebook.

M1 announced on Monday that its chairman, Teo Soon Hoe, had passed on 14 Dec. He was 65.

Several news outlets reported on this and shared their articles on Facebook. The articles on Yahoo Singapore and Channel NewsAsia attracted several comments, most of them were condolences or simple 'RIPs' messages.

Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong also paid Teo a tribute on his Facebook page.

However, some people thought it was a good idea to make light of the demise of another human being:

Freedom of speech online comes with a responsibility. It does not mean a freedom to be devoid of humanity and common sense.

Come on people, have some decency. We are better than that.

You wouldn't want the Internet to go on a 'human flesh hunt' over your insensitive comments, right?
