What do Anton Casey, Bernice Wong and Jover Chew have in common?

It appears that Singaporeans like to search for people who are suddenly enjoying their five seconds of online fame.

More people in Singapore searched for Anton Casey than Korean stars Ladies Code and Kim Soo Hyun, and the late Joan Rivers and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Google, which receives over one trillion search queries each year, announced its annual Year in Search for Singapore yesterday. The annual announcement highlights  the top 2014 search results and trends.

On a sombre note, the top trending search item is the mysterious disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight 370. Searches for “MH370” are five times higher than the top trending local news search, “PSI Singapore”.
