Within minutes of confirming just after noon on Dec. 28, 2014 that flight QZ8501 from Surabaya to Singapore had lost contact with air traffic control at 07:24hrs this morning, Air Asia changed their Facebook logo from their traditional red to grey.

However, that prompt change did not go down well as it is construed as an ominous sign.
