Shin Min Daily News ran an interview with Jover Chew's mother on Nov. 7, 2014, over the Mobile Air debacle.

Chew's mom was in tears and said that she was under tremendous stress the past few days. She also felt bad that her daughter-in-law got embroiled in the incident even though she was innocent.

Chew's parents have been running a cooked food stall at an Ang Mo Kio coffee shop for ten years. Chew would help out at the stall when he had the time and that was how people around the coffee shop knew who Chew was.

Chew's mom, who's in her 60s, said that when news broke over what happened at Mobile Air, she was under a lot of stress because the community around knew Jover Chew was involved. She said she hope the saga would blow over and netizens can say whatever they want about it.

Chew's mother said that Chew is a filial son. His wife said that his friends were a bad influence on him.

Chew's wife hopes that Chew would reflect on this incident, close his shop and publicly apologise for what he has done.

She said she does not know whether Chew would make a public apology.

Satire site New Nation had earlier written an article parodying how Chew would be charged exorbitant prices at the Sim Lim Square Chap Cai Png stall. It is not known whether Chew's parents run a real Chap Cai Png stall.
