That's one tough cookie.

After going back for his In-Camp Training to do his part to serve in Singapore's deterrence force, former Guardsman, Brigadier-General and current Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin abseiled down from 11 floors of an HDB flat in Keat Hong on Oct. 26, 2014.

He was joined by Chua Chu Kang GRC MPs Zaqy Mohamad and Alex Yam as they are trying to start an interest group there, called "Project Cliff-Hanger".

From Channel News Asia on Oct. 26, 2014:

Minister Tan also helped kick-start the adventure interest group in Keat Hong by abseiling down a HDB block as part of "Project Cliff-Hanger".

This is one of the key highlights of the Family Fiesta at Lam Soon Community Centre Hard Court, the second stop of Mr Tan's ministerial community visit. It is hoped that Project Cliff-Hanger will attract the younger families living in Keat Hong.

A video of the stunt was put up on Facebook, which showed Tan doing swimmingly well as he descended -- according to Standard Operating Procedure considering he was once a soldier -- until he bounced off the wall after crashing into it.

No damage to the building was reported.
