Today is Park(ing) Day, when 88 parking lots in Singapore are transformed into 52 creative spaces. Park(ing) Day is also part of the worldwide Park(ing) Day event.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) joined the international movement to encourage people to influence city spaces.  These 52 ‘PARKS’ are located at the Central Business District, Jalan Besar, Kampong Glam, Outram and Tiong Bahru.

Judging from the transformations below, you can safely say that creativity is in abundance in sunny Singapore.

Below are 14 ways how Singaporeans had re-created the parking lots:

1. A Uno den

2. A circus

3. A playground

4. A pop quiz station

5. A place Phua Chu Kang will definitely be proud of

6. A Lego wonderland

7. A home garden

8. A farm (of sorts)

9. A fashion gallery

10. A chillax corner

11. A fruit stall

12. A crime scene

13. A scene from the movie, UP

14. And a place for hipsters to bask in the humidity of the typical Singaporean weather

But someone didn't get the memo
