Ambassador of Russia to S'pore just wrote the funniest forum letter to The Straits Times

There is "Blame USA" written all over it.

Talk about the art of diplomacy.

Leonid Moiseev, the Ambassador of Russia to Singapore (pictured above), responded in the snarkiest fashion to an article originally published in The Straits Times about the secession of Crimea to Russia.

Check out his short and sweet response published in the national broadsheet's forum page today, which appeared in the ST print edition.

Here's how you take a jab at America without even mentioning America:

Editorial on Putin's tactics: Russian ambassador replies

I SINCERELY hope your editorial writers watched the voting in Crimea on Sunday ("Putin's tactics an affront to all"; last Friday).

Western correspondents were allowed to monitor the process from the very beginning to the end; there was live coverage on CNN and other major channels.

The outcome was an unequivocal verdict on the 22 years of Ukraine rule.

By the way, it was not President Vladimir Putin who novelised international law with "humanitarian interventions" and the "responsibility to protect", not to mention "coalitions of the willing" to bypass the United Nations.

Hold on a second. Did he just take a swipe at our national media as well, for not doing their due diligence? Because the last time anyone checked, there is no Moscow correspondent.

Ok, wait a minute. Did he just poke Singapore too? We are, after all, one of the countries in the "coalitions of the willing".

Awesome!
