9 things you tried to get away with when you were young

You might still be trying to get away with some of these now.

1) With literal sentence construction questions

Don't know how to tackle that 'Zhao Ju' or sentence construction question? Use them literally then.

I did this all the time for my Chinese tests. The teacher must have been so happy knowing that all she had to do was to draw a large, red "X" across the page.

2) With throwing away rubbish

Don't want to throw away that packet of Twisties? Don't pick the last few pieces. Wait for the last guy and then tell others he touched it last.

3) With avoiding confrontation with the guy who got left out

What? Your good friend wasn't invited to that awesome outing and you didn't do a thing about it? It's okay. Ask your friend to blame the selfish organiser. That's your get-of-jail-free card.

4) With "confessing" to your crush

Did you just text your crush and got a really bad reply? It's okay! Blame it on your friend. Your crush can't prove anything anyway. Whew! That was a "close one".

I actually did this a few times myself.

5) With your smelly, silent killer of a fart.

All you have to do is quickly ask the group who did it. Then make sure you wave your hand about and say that it stinks.

6) With "smoking" through your college essay

Oh yes Arts Students... We know how it is ;) Gotta make that Word Count after all.

7) With randomly guessing in multiple choice exams

Or maybe you answered a lot of "False", hence the next few are "True".

Admit it. We do this all the time. That's what you get for not studying.

8) With a very bad Chinese essay/ Zuo Wen by fitting in a bunch of adverbs and stuff

Do you have horrible Chinese (and handwriting if you haven't guessed by now) like I do? Don't worry! For your essay, simply keep inserting a bunch of adverbs, adjectives or whatever they're called.

Then, you can use the classic story line of how you were late for school. And yes, you learnt your lesson in the end!

9) With "anything"

What do you want to eat? Anything.

Where do you want to go? Anywhere.

What do you feel like doing? Anything.

Despite your unenthusiastic answers, deep down you hope someone is going to do all the work for you.

Too bad the chances of things going your way is next to zero.
