The man at the centre of a spitting incident caught on video is expected to plead guilty this week.

With no lawyer to represent him, Juraimi Kamaludin, 47, indicated he will plead guilty to the charges when the case is mentioned again.

He did not qualify for legal aid and his application was unsuccessful.

His aggressive behaviour at Woodlands Bus Interchange on Oct. 22 at about 9.30pm was caught on camera and caused a public uproar.

He was subsequently charged a few days later with being a public nuisance.

On that evening, he allegedly spat in the faces of two women, aged 34 and 41.

He was said to have spat in one of the women's face twice that night.

He could face a maximum of three months' jail and S$1,500 fine for each count of using criminal force by spitting.

Juraimi allegedly also pushed the older woman out of the bus. For this act, the charge carries a maximum jail term of six months and a S$2,500 fine.

In total, he faces six charges, including one charge unrelated to the spitting incident at the interchange that night.

This charge of disorderly behaviour was for an incident that occurred in September this year, at about 8am at a void deck at Bukit Batok Street 21.

If convicted of disorderly behaviour, Juraimi could be jailed up to a month and fined S$1,000.

He faces a fine of up to S$1,000 for the maximum penalty of being a public nuisance by behaving aggressively.
