Affordable Art Fair 2013 might just be the layman's shot at owning art

Art is never really affordable if it needs to be made affordable -– but, hey, it’s the thought that counts!

From Nov. 21 to 24, the Affordable Art Fair 2013 makes its last stop here in Singapore having made its way through America, Europe, and the UK.

With the aim of making contemporary art accessible to everyone, the art fair is showcasing various styles and mediums of art all priced between $100 to $10,000, with 75 percent of the works under $7,500.

Entry to the fair is definitely more affordable than the highly rated Art Stage Singapore with general admissions priced at $8 and $15 for senior citizens and students, respectively.

A group package of S$50 for four adults is also available.

From Tel Aviv, artist Nissim Ben Aderet of Contempop Expressions Galleries draws live at the fair.

 

The Affordable Art Fair shows sincere effort to make art accessible to all by providing information such as “Tips on Buying Art & Visiting the Fair” on their booklets and websites.

In addition, the fair features educational programmes that the layman could find very informative such as “Collect Your World: Buying and Collecting Art”, “The Art of Custom Framing”, and “What’s Curating About”.

Furthermore, the fair also features an “Under $1,000 Wall”.
