In a single 135-character tweet, Twitter announced that it has filed confidential paperwork to the Securities and Exchange Commission to begin the process for its initial public offering (IPO).

6. IPO News: Twitter submitted a filing under the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (Jobs Act). This allows companies with less than $1 billion in annual revenues to keep their securities filings confidential until three weeks before the launch of an investor roadshow.
