The Singtel Singapore Grand Prix (SGP) 2013 concluded last night, with Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel leading the race from start-to-finish. His winning margin was 32.627 seconds, the biggest in F1 history this year. Below is a summary of the SGP over the weekend.
1. German Sebastian Vettel is the first man to win the SGP for the third time.
26-year old Vettel extended his lead in the drivers' championship standings over 2nd ranked Fernando Alonso to 60 points, with six races remaining.
2. The SGP recorded the highest attendance since the inaugural 2008 race.

Over 87,509 general walkabout, grandstand and hospitality patrons attended this year's edition, with a total of 262,527 visitors at the Marina Bay Street Circuit over the three-day race weekend. In 2008, crowd figures were estimated at about 100,000 for the race, 300,000 visitors for the race weekend.
3. This is the sixth instalment of the SGP.

Australians are the night race’s biggest fans, accounting for 17 per cent of bookings, followed by those from Britain (8 per cent) and Indonesia (6 per cent).
4. Singapore extended its five-year contract last year, and will continue to host the race till 2017.
It costs approximately $150 million to organise, but generated approximately $140-$150 million in incremental tourism receipts each year.
5. Football star David Beckham made a surprise appearance at the F1.
6. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong attended SGP last night.

PM Lee said on his FB that the "F1 race is more than a sporting event; it brings people from all around the world to experience Singapore".
7. Headline acts for this year's F1 events were The Killers (see photo below), Justin Bieber, Rihanna, BigBang and Tom Jones.
