Social media in S'pore still buzzing over NDP phallic-looking smoke

What are we? 12-year-olds? Yay!

How about this?

This is one photograph no newspaper dares to print.

And it is, in fact, one of the most talked about pictures on social media about this National Day. Wait, make that this whole year.

Shot by an uber-talented photographer going by the name of Jervis Mun, it shows the 21-gun salute in action as it marked the arrival of President Tony Tan at the Marina Bay floating platform at this year's 48th National Day celebration.

Good position and a mix of technical wizardry and chance led to this epic shot.

Check out some of the reactions two full days after the photo went viral:

#1 This inspired some singing of old National Day songs:

#2 And some ad libbing:

#3 Some expressing adult guilt:

#4 Some had the Total Fertility Rate in mind:

#5 And yes, the self-explanatory (if you don't get acronyms, you're not Singaporean enough):

I mean, why do we even find penises funny? Can someone please explain this? I mean, approximately half the people on Earth have one.

Would National University of Singapore sociologist and former Nominated Member of Parliament, Paulin Straughan, care to comment?

Or does Singapore Management University associate professor of psychology Norman Li have any idea?

But it's an awesome photo, nonetheless, sure to go down the annals of history (pun intended).
