Every year when the National Day Rally comes to town, social media in Singapore goes into overdrive.

The hashtag #ndrsg was trending globally due to Singapore's mobile Internet penetration rate and heavy social media usage.

So how do the young-Singaporenas-cum-social-media-addicts experience the National Day Rally when they live their lives vicariously via spaces such as Twitter?

Pretty darn funnily.

#1 They know what colour is PM Lee's shirt this year without even turning on the TV.
